History of Sun Powered Productions

Sun Powered Productions was founded in 2001 by Jonathan Collyer. Seeing the internet as a bridge between geographically distant communities and a leveling ground for variously sized businesses, Jonathan wanted to create a company that would give small businesses an edge and help cottage industries connect to a global marketplace.

Since then, Sun Powered Productions has expanded into a web development company capable of providing a "full service" set of hosting & domain name, website production and internet marketing services to help our clients grow their businesses.

To facilitate economic vibrance and diversity by inspiring both profound and practical communication, (which utilizes a broad collection of video, audio, community development, graphic design and web production skills) Jonathan Collyer founded SunPoweredProductions.com in 2001. From a childhood having an African as a best friend in Apartheid South Africa, having a mentally handicapped younger brother and growing up in a small business entrepreneurial family, his life experiences have emphasized the idea that we can achieve far more in co-operation than the sum of what we can achieve alone.

Behind every business is some person's dream, and what is more satisfying than helping somebody's dream succeed. Though Shelly enjoys the creative and logical aspect of building websites, she really loves knowing that the websites she creates will really help businesses for years to come. Even after the thrill of a new design wears off, she feels deeply satisfied that websites she builds will continue to gain momentum amoung search engines because she built it right. Success starts with a solid foundation.

Besides website production skills, Shelly comes to Sun Powered Productions with a background in tutoring, editing, event management & marketing, administrative work, physics, publishing, and writing. Because of this wide-ranged background, she believes that any person can do any thing if they were willing to learn the right set of skills. She very much enjoys empowering others to learn how to take control of their websites, no matter what technological level they start with.

Payment Processing can be handled by a variety of on-line payment systems and traditional bank merchant accounts. We recommend starting a new store using a free PayPal account to handle payments. Once products start to sell you can easily upgrade to a more advanced payment system, like PayPal's Website Payments Pro, Authorize.net, Wells Fargo's eCommerce Processing etc.
