Northern California Renaissance Faire 2005-2006: This is the 2006 version of the website. Please note, we are no longer working for the NCRF. This is no longer the official site and only posted here as a part of SunPoweredProductions.com's portfolio.

ScottishRenaissanceFestival.org: Santa Cruz's own Renaissance Festival! It will be held at the Santa Cruz County Faire Grounds on Saturday, June 14, this year.

The Guild of St. Bernard - Constables: A "comedy improvisational acting troupe" who can be met and seen at several Renaissance Fairs.

Craig Renfroe's Aquarium Maintenance: Craig offers professional aquarium maintenance & consulting in the Santa Cruz, Monterey and San Jose area.

Andrew Standbridge in Lao: This site documents some of Andrews work with the Lao Unexploded Ordinance removal organization and some adventures in South East Asia.

Video Projects

World Without Oil- "It's Up To You Now Nico" & "Hello Nico": We produced these two short videos for Ken Eklund as part of the origional plot line for the award winning web activism movement WorldWithoutOil.org.

Want2bdiscovered Live Webstream Promo: A promotional video for the Want2bdiscovered.com musician showcase communities live webstreamed performances.

Blackburn Academy Intro: This is a video we did one evening for our close personal friend, Courtney Blackburn.

About Dragonslayers.org: This is a video we produced after an afternoon meeting with Joseph of the Riverscrest Dragonslayers. The Dragonslayers are an innovative animal therapy program for the disabled community.

Portfolio

Here are some samples of artistic or otherwise creative work we have done.

Bug that Follows Mouse: This is an adaptation of the code from one of the samples that comes with Flash. My objective was to create a beetle "object" that would follow the mouse. When the mouse leaves the green area, the beetle returns to its house. When the beetle approaches the mouse the beetle becomes larger.

SPP5: The 5th version of SunPoweredProductions.com ~2004 (we are now working on version 9). The links on the flowers have been changed to protect the innocent. Watch the "Intro" animation if you get a chance. Bandwidth was much more of a concern when this site was made. After doing a battery of experiments with different flash techniques, import and export settings, I was able to keep the download size of SPP5 at around 150k and the intro at 110k.

Dragonslayers Renaissance Festival 2007: Notice any similarities to the 2007 NCRF site...

Angles: In 2004-05 I made an album of songs as a sort of alternative Christmas gift. This Flash site showcases the music.

Noznisiance Spinning Feature: An adaptation of actionscipt code that originally caused an object to make a basic 3d rotation, this animation is part of a larger project that has been on the back burner for a very long time. You can't tell from this snippet, but the project uses a rather creative loading sequence. The full animation is divided into 3 parts. As soon as the first part loads, the second part begins loading, then the third without effecting the playing animation. Only if one of the parts has not completely loaded before it is supposed to play, a loading bar will appear.

Noznisiance Banner: The mouse is replaced by an array of text which cycles through the different words as the mouse moves over the banner. Also the main title is an array which changes depending on the X axis position of the mouse.

What is Within You: This animation starts with a contrast between the "Left" and "Right" wing. The heart beats get faster the closer the mouse gets to the eagles heart. When the mouse rolls over the heart the animation begins.

United/Divided: This is a sticker I made after the term "United We Stand" came into vogue. I was a little disappointed that the second part of the phrase was missing.
